Hello. This is my first post here I'm looking to get into some of this. I have various parts around I find items at a bulk thrift store where you pick from bins and buy things for .59 cents a pound. :woohoo: As light as they are I have a few IR controllers and a few damaged helicopters.

I have more controllers than helicopters.
also a few 49 and 27mhz things like this.

I've looked at the schematic on this site and have been looking into trying to make receivers and program them. I've also been looking at the Arduinos and how they can program an ic chip. These Arduinos are pretty neat they can programmed through a computer and be used in an Android OS. My thought is to Program one of these ICs to use a small bluetooth module and make a bluetooth receiver for use With Android OS app as controller/transmitter.
I guess that is the future of what I'd like to do but i'd like to just get things going with the IR controllers I have and figure out how to make receivers for them? Any idea that it will work?
I see the PIC10F200 on this site and you can send them code to put on it looks like and even on ebay too but you have to specify because there are different types of the chip.
So question is can the old controllers work as they are if I build a receiver to use with them? And What is the best way to go about making one.

Hi Toms!
Older transmitters from the store will not help.
Need to do a receiver and a transmitter with their hands.
Homemade receiver can make a very small and light.
But with it can only homemade transmitter.
To do this you need a PIC programmer, and chip
PIC10F200 micro-plane.com/index.php?option=com_kun...16&Itemid=44&lang=en
PIC12F629 micro-plane.com/index.php?option=com_con...d=9&Itemid=8&lang=en

But if you have no experience in electronics, then maybe you will be easier to buy a ready receiver (small size) and the transmitter.

Sorry for my English.
Sergey
